Outsiders Outside returns to Judith Racht Gallery for its twelfth year, September 1-3, 2006, bigger and better than ever!  “We had so many really special applicants this year,” says Judith Racht, founder of the fair, “that we called the tent company and asked if there was any way to add more space.  They can squeeze one more tent into our space, so we’re opening four more booths this year!”

Among the interesting new exhibitors are Project Onward, a Chicago not-for-profit that works to support the creativity of visual artists with developmental, cognitive and mental disabilities, and Big Chief and the Spirit of the Ya Ya Ya, from Panama City, Florida.  Returning favorites include Scott Griffin and Casey McGlynn of Toronto Canada, Carrie Gilliam’s American Sampler collection from Georgia, and Tom d. from Grand Rapids.  A complete exhibitor list is on the following page.

Outsiders Outside opens on Friday, September 1 with a First Look Preview Party from 6-9 pm EST.  The $30 admission includes dinner from Café Gulistan, music by Patent Medicine, a full weekend pass to the show, and the first opportunity to discover all the treasures at the show. The weekend continues Saturday, September 2 from 10-6 pm EST and Sunday, September 3 from 10-5 pm EST, with a general admission of $10 (children 12 and under are free).

Outsiders Outside is held under big white tents on the lawn of Judith Racht Gallery, 13707 Prairie Road (just off Red Arrow Highway) in Harbert, Michigan.  In the heart of Harbor Country, Harbert is just 75 minutes from downtown Chicago, or an easy 3-1/5 hours from Detroit.
